Alphonse Vallelungo Jr. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Rosemary Hotard Vallelungo. Loving father of Alphonse “Butch” Vallelungo III (Linda) and Terry Vallelungo (Christine). Son of the late Alphonse Vallelungo Sr. and Mary D’Antoni Vallelungo. Brother of Gus Vallelungo, Joe Vallelungo and the late Pete, Paul, Jake, Mary, Katie, Eva, Rose and Angelina. Proud grandfather of Kim (Robbie), Kelly (Tabitha), Joshua (Jennifer) and Jessica. Great grandfather of Ellie, Cory, Cole, Luca and Cecilia. Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Alphonse Jr. was born on February 14, 1922 in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He enjoyed a long career as a dedicated employee of Jax Brewery for 35 years. He spent nine and a half years with Boeing and several years at Lockheed Martin as a machine mechanic before he retired for good in 1987. He had a passion for fishing and even spent last Father’s Day fishing with his family. He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends attended a visitation and funeral service at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, LA on Saturday, December 29, 2018. He was laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
