Catherine Phillipello Weiss passed away on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born April 19, 1930, in New Orleans, LA, and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for the past 57 years. Surviving relatives include her nieces and nephews: Claudette (Cliff) Reuther, Frank (Paula) Arsaga, Phillip (Suzanne) Phillippello, Jr., Pam (Buddy) Cowart, Tammy (Reza) Ajalli and Ralph Carroll. Catherine was the daughter of the late Ida Montalbano and Joseph Phillipello of New Orleans, LA. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley Weiss; sister Mary Arsaga; brother Phillip Phillippello, Sr.; sister Ida Carroll; and nephew Michael Phillippello. Catherine was retired from the American Can Company. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and her years in carnival clubs Juno, Daughter’s of Eve, and Shangri-La. In her later years, her joy was spending time with her family and seeing her family grow with the birth of her great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews where-in she became Nanny Cat. Relatives and friends attended the visitation and funeral mass at Our Lady of Prompt Succor, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA. 70043 on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Interment followed at St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Hospital, 200 Henry Clay Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, preferred.
