Bertha Pitcher entered into eternal rest peacefully, with her family by her side on Monday, January 28, 2019, at the age of 70. She was married to the love of her life and soulmate, the late Ruben “Sparks” Pitcher. Bertha was loving mother to Roxana “Roxie” Moore and the proud mother-in-law of Chad Moore. She was the cherished grandmother “BeBe” of Caden Moore, Caine Moore, and Gabrielle Moore, and late Hope Moore. She leaves behind her two fur babies, Chico and Bree, and a host of grand-fur babies. Bertha was the daughter of the late Paul and Odile Herbert, sister of Paul Herbert and Ronnie Herbert, and cousin of Judy Glancey (Johnny). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great friends, especially Dianne Thames and Beth Stiehl. Mrs. Pitcher was a retired administrative assistant/secretary. She loved to travel, walk, dance, socialize with friends, and be around her fur babies. She spent many vacations with her daughter and grandkids, enjoying life. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a resident of St. Bernard Parish since 1973, and a resident of Destrehan, LA for the last 13 years. She was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, LA for the last 13 years. Bertha will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her; she was always smiling, very kind, loving, and happy to help anyone. Relatives and friends attended a visitation and Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA, on Friday, February 1, 2019. A Interment followed at Hope Mausoleum, 4841 Canal St., New Orleans, LA. Condolences may be left for the family at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
