Raymond Charles “Cowboy Ray” Oelking passed away on November 16, 2018 in Kiln MS.›He is preceded in death by his parents Amos J. Oelking, Sr. and Rita Regan Oelking, and brothers Amos J. Oelking Jr., John Charles Melton and Edgar Charles Melton. Ray is survived by his wife of 22 years Doris H. Oelking; children Raymond J. Oelking Sr. (Jamie), Timothy Adley, Rosetta Gomez Leblanc, and Philip Gomez; grandchildren Raymond J. Oelking Jr, Kevin Cuccia Jr, Nicholas Cuccia and Camryn Adley; sisters Audreta Oelking Richardson, Rebecca Oelking Goostrey, and Elizabeth Melton Dow; and brothers William Charles Melton, Landon Charles Melton and Alan Charles Melton. Ray served in the U.S. Air Force and was a longtime resident of St Bernard Parish. He worked for 30 years at the Shell/Chevron Yscloskey Plant. A memorial service was held in Waveland, MS, on December 1, 2018.
