Scott E. Reinecke Sr. passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the age of 70. He was born November 23, 1948 to Donald and Maxine Reinecke. Scott was a Vietnam Veteran, serving as a dog handler, radio operator, and infantryman in the United States Marine Corps 1968-1971. He served in the New Orleans Fire Department from October 1974 until June of 1990. He was well known as “Fighter Boz” among his coworkers for his “Bozo the Clown” hairstyle and boisterous character. His friends and family knew him as Scotty. An avid sportsman and longtime resident of Chalmette, Scott knew every canal and duck blind from Hopedale to Slidell. He was happiest when hunting and fishing. To know him, was to know his struggles with sobriety and the tragic consequences bestowed upon loved ones. His family asks that you honor his life by remembering the happiness he brought to the world, the selfless service he gave to his country and city, and for being the friend that would give you the shirt off of his back without asking. Fighter Boz, Scotty, Scott, Dad is at peace in Heaven. His eyes are open, his mind is clear, and he is loved both in Heaven and on Earth. Rest easy Marine... your work is done. A service will be held at a later date in the Slidell Veteran’s Cemetery.
