Ronald J. “Ronnie” Lamanette passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the age of 61. He was the loving husband of 40 years, to Janis Mills Lamanette. Devoted father of Melissa Lamanette Boos (Jason). Grandfather of Mason James Boos and Madison Aline Boos. Brother of Deborah Lamanette Delatte (Kenneth) and John David Lamanette (Desiree’). Son-in-law of Dolores Brinker Mills. Brother-in-law of James Casper Mills, III M.D. (Kim). He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Anita Mae Plances Lamanette and the late John James Lamanette. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. Ronnie was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish before relocating after Hurricane Katrina. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 37 and was employed by Buck Kreihs Marine Repair for many years. He loved going to the track, working on his race car, and was never happier than when fishing with his brother, or simply being “paw-paw” to his grandbabies, who were the joy of his life. He was a wonderful man and will be forever missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, on Wednesday, July 29, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral mass will be held in his memory at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
