Jessie “Betty” Kessling passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the age of 86. She was the cherished wife and soul mate of the late Philip F. Kessling Jr. for over 50 years. Loving mother of Philip F. Kessling III (Rhonda) and Robert F. Kessling (Kerry Kenney). Sister of the late Faye and James. Proud grandmother of Molly Kessling. Aunt of Barbara Patrolia and Jamie Stubbs. Also survived by many other relatives, great neighbors and friends. Betty was a great homemaker and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was lovingly known as the family chauffeur for many years and one of her favorite hobbies was crocheting. Betty will be forever remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. To celebrate the life of Betty the family requests guests wear her favorite color green on Sunday. Relatives and friends attended a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A funeral service will began afterward. Interment was private.
