Louise Carollo Hymel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the age of 86. She was the cherished wife of 50 years to the late Joseph S. Hymel, Jr. Loving mother of Nina Louise Hymel and the late Jo Ann Ramirez (Robert), Joseph S. Hymel, III (Lisa) and Louis W. Hymel. Daughter of the late Louis and Minnie Pipitone Carollo. Sister of Carlo L. Carollo (Angelina), Frank M. Carollo, Sr. (Patricia), Ben B. Carollo (Lucille) and the late Rosalie Schiro (Jerome), Nina Ballero (Nunzi), Bernadine Bonnecarrere (Frank), Mary Mouton (Charles “Buddy”), Josephine “Fefe” Carollo and Florence Mistretta. Proud grandmother of Carmen Ramirez (Jason Swindler), Joseph S. Hymel, IV and the late Robert D. Ramirez, Jr. Great grandmother of Ariana Swindler, Ayden Swindler and the late Jason Swindler, Jr. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Louise was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish, currently residing in Slidell, LA. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature and generous heart. She will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Louise loved her friends, treasured her family, and always recognized the best qualities in everyone she encountered. Relatives and friends attended a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W.Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, October 31s, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral mass in her memory beginning at 1 p.m. She was laid to rest with her beloved husband in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
