Elia Rose Prejean Brownell passed away on Friday, November 6, 2019 at the age of 93. Beloved wife of the late Charles Ray Brownell for 46 years. Loving mother of Nancy Gaspard (Alden), Dottie Borja (Donald) and the late Charles Brownell Jr. Daughter of the late Luc and Alphonsine Prejean. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters and three brothers. Elia Rose was born on October 22, 1926 in Lafayette, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. She was a volunteer sign language interpreter for the Baptist Church Conventions for many years. She will be forever remembered for her great smile & bright spirit and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends attended the visitation and funeral service held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, December 12, 2019.
