Thomas “Tommy” H. Dukes passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at the age of 57. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Dukes, of 12 years. Son of Thomas W. Dukes and Gaynell Dukes. Loving father of Katie Dukes and Delaney Dukes, and stepfather of Joshua Labat (Jessica) and Jordan Labat (Kayla). Brother of Timothy “Timmy” Dukes (Jacquelyn “Jackie”), and Teri Spiers (Michael “Biscuit”) and uncle to Brianna Dukes and Brittan Dukes. Grandfather of Averi Labat, Alivia Labat, Jace Labat, and Kennedy Labat. Tommy was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. He attended Holy Cross High School and graduated from Chalmette High School where he excelled in sports. He was a renowned basketball player that led to several championships. Tommy served in the United States Navy and was the owner of Dukes Custom Home Improvements. Tommy was a loving, kind, and giving man who never knew a stranger. He had a heart of gold and was a generous man with those who needed help. His hobbies included watching Saints and LSU football, riding his motorcycle, as well as playing golf. He was a loving husband, caring son, and supportive sibling. He was a devoted father to his children, and absolutely adored his grandchildren. He thoroughly enjoyed life and will be greatly missed by all.
