Louis Joseph Champagne passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the age of 77. He leaves behind his beloved companion of many years, Betty Timberlake Marchand. Father of Louis, Jr., Christopher and Scarlett. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, the late Blanche Jobert Champagne and the late Jules Champagne. Louis proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy, as a member of the “Submarines.” He was a diesel mechanic by trade, loved riding his motorcycle, and was never happier than when in the woods, hunting. He was a loving companion and friend, and he will be forever missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue Street, in Chalmette, on Friday, November 6, 2020, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. A memorial service will be held in his memory at 1 p.m, immediately followed by military honors, presented by the U.S. Navy.
