Odile Barousse Faurie

Odile Barousse Faurie, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020, in the presence of her family, at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late Wallace J. Faurie and daughter of the late Eugene J. Barousse and Odile Bouterie Barousse. Sister of the late Eugene J. Barousse, Jr. and Valerie H. Barousse. Loving mother of Lynn Faurie Breuhl (Robert), Mark J. Faurie (Patti) and the late Gene M. Faurie (Debbie). Also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Odile was born and raised in New Orleans, later residing in Arabi and Slidell. She graduated from Rabouin High School and spent the majority of her years as a homemaker excelling in sewing and crocheting. She was a long time faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Orleans and later The Village Lutheran Church in Lacombe. She was proudly involved with the Women’s Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She also enjoyed participating in various bowling leagues in St. Bernard Parish, as well as watching sports played by her children and grandchildren. Odile was loved by all and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Finally, the family wishes to thank Passages Hospice for their caring and compassionate support until their loved one passed on to her heavenly home. A Christian funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m., at The Village Church Lutheran, 29180 Highway 190, Lacombe, LA 70445. Officiant: Pastor Paul Ernewein. Interment: St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, face masks and social distancing are required to attend the services.
