Eugene J. Barousse, Jr., departed this world on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 89. Husband of Vivian Revere Barousse and the late Catherine Killingsworth Barousse. Proud and loving father of Cathy Gene Coyle (Tyrone), Karen Ann Brakel (Rob), Debra Mary Bouterie (the late Alan), Barry Kevin Barousse (Robbin), Daniel Myron Barousse Sr. (Laurie), Sharon Lynn Barousse (Ron) and the late Eugene J. Barousse III (Fran). Son of the late Eugene J. Barousse Sr. and Odile Bouterie Barousse. Brother of the late Odile Faurie and Valerie Barousse. Uncle of Lynn Bruehl, Mark Faurie and the late Gene Faurie. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The Lord blessed him with the family he was born into and his own family, neither could have been any better, the best. The happiest times of his life was spent with his children and grandchildren. They provided many many happy times for him. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 – 1953 as a Second Class Boatswain’s Mate in charge of Fimbler Bay Light Att. Station. He went on to serve another three years in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 75 years and graduated from St. Paul grammar school in 1943. He attended F. T. Nicholls High School and graduated in 1947. He retired from Bell Tel. Co. after 30 years of service as a station repairman. He resided in the Irish Bayou fishing community for 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman catching many thousands of pounds of crawfish along with plenty of rabbits, ducks, crabs, shrimp, fish, turtles, alligator, pouldeau and Lord knows what else for the weekly parties with his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 57210 Allen Rd., Slidell, LA on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
