John Henry Henninger Sr. passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the age of 60. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his very memorable life. He was the beloved husband of 37 years to Dolores Rosales Henninger. Loving father of Derric Henninger, John Henninger (Georgia), Jared Henninger (Sabrina) and Nicole Henninger (Nicole). Proud grandfather of Kaden Henninger, Gavin Henninger, Lindsey Nicosia, Drake Henninger, Grayson Henninger and Lance Nicosia. Brother of Jerrilynn, Gerard, Deborah and Heidi Henninger. Devoted son to his loving mother Dorothy Zahn and the late John Henninger. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his extended family, along with many relatives and dear friends. John was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish where he loved riding his Harley Davidson with his friends and always had his furry daughter Honey by his side. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature, spunky sense of humor and generous heart. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be truly and deeply missed by all who were touched by his love, laughter and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of John’s life beginning at 11 a.m. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are required.
