Annie Gerace Guerrera passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at the age of 94 from a heart attack. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, the late Joseph A. Guerrera Sr. Daughter of the late Sam Gerace Sr. and Sarah Maddie Gerace of Bayou Current, LA. Born of 10 children and the last one to survive. She was the sister of the late Seraphine, Stella, Rosie (Fred Hebert), Josie (Reynolds Messa), Mary (Irving Galle), Frank Gerace and Anthony (Rosalie) Gerace. Loving mother of her two children, Joseph A. Guerrera Jr. (Deborah) and Barbara Guerrera Richard (Joseph). Loving grandmother of Craig (Melissa) Guerrera, Kevin (Sonia) Guerrera, Melissa (Jack) Demster, Brian (Natalie) Richard and Shawn Richard. Great grandmother of Logan Guerrera, Isabella Guerrera, Emma Demster and Gavin & Abigail Richard. Annie is also survived by one sister-in-law, Marlene Seeman, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Annie was a devoted Catholic. She was also a gifted craft maker and a very warm and friendly woman. She had many fond memories of the times she worked for Elmer’s Candy Company and Atlantic Envelope Company. Even though some of her memories faded, she always remembered her time at Elmer’s Candy Company as it must have been some of the best times of her life. She was a native of Bayou Current, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. After hurricane Katrina, Annie settled in Metairie, LA at the Whitney Place Condominiums and made a great number of close friends. She will always be remembered as a loving and loyal mother, mother-in-law and grandmother, and a caring friend who treasured her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Annie’s memory beginning at 1 p.m. She will be laid to eternal rest with her beloved husband Joseph in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
