Herbert "Cotton" Banks, Jr., an auto body technician, bus driver and longtime resident of Violet, LA; died on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at his home. He was a Beloved husband to the late Willie Ola Brown Banks, son of the late Isodonia Bailey and Herbert Banks, Sr., and the son-in-law to the late Hilda Brown and Willie Brown. He was the loving father of Shelia Banks, Valarie Johnson (Kevin Johnson, Sr.), Herbert Banks III, the late Ramona Banks, and James Banks. He was the grandfather of Sandrell AkeraRichard-Grant (Steve Grant), Sandy John Richard, Jr., Danell Neisha Banks (Dale Chartian), Kevin Johnson, Jr. (Victoria Johnson)., Kendrick Johnson, Louis Brown, and Telecia Johnson; and the great grandfather of Latrell Antoine Grant, Lei'yah Monae' Grant, Jaxson Antoine Grant, Saniya Grant, Jaylin Lamar Banks, Stevenson Antoine Grant, III, and LaKentra Thomas. He was the beloved brother to Oliver Banks, who will miss his friend dearly (Selina Mae Banks), the late Ulysses Banks, Sr. (Beverly Banks), and the late Ceolia Mae Meyer (the late Den Meyer). He was also the brother-in-law to the late Arthur Brown (Doris Brown), Melvin Brown (Margaret Brown), Burnell Brown (Betty Brown), Willie Brown, and Melvina Bailey (Joseph Bailey). He was the Godfather to Audrey Bailey, Darryl Bailey, Sylvia Brown and Emitte Collins. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as other relatives and friends that he loved dearly.
