Wayne O. Frey passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the age of 75. He was the beloved son of the late Oswald Frey and Melanie Schmidt Grillot. Loving brother of James Frey (Edmay) and the late Kathleen Nagim (Jesse). Nephew of the late Shirley Chappetta and Merle Terranova (Vic). Uncle of Terra Frey Lonardo, Christine Wale, James Frey II (Shelley), Devin Frey and the late Jerry Silva Jr. (Velma). Great uncle of Kristine Beard (Marc), Amanda Silva, Jerry Silva III, Joseph Zahn II, Dylan Silva, Clayton Lonardo, Avery Frey, Dominick Zahn and Andrew Frey. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many relatives and dear friends. Wayne was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. He truly enjoyed life through his simple pleasures of eating good meals and enjoying the company of his family and friends. He found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for others. Wayne will always be remembered for his caring and loving spirit, his laughter, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful example of what it means to care for others and will be deeply missed by us all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, December 27, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service in Wayne’s memory beginning at 1 p.m. Interment: Private.
