Carolina Kattengell LaBorde was called to her heavenly home on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the age of 98 while being surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Tela, Honduras, on a banana plantation with no electricity. Carolina became a U.S. citizen and resided in Chalmette, LA, where she started her beautiful family. She was described as the sweetest person you would ever meet. Carolina had a natural gift of being kind and polite to anyone that would encounter her. She loved with her whole heart and would always lend a helping hand to those in need. Carolina was a seamstress for majority of her life, and she also enjoyed to crochet. She was a dedicated and devoted grandmother. Her grandchildren meant everything to her, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Carolina was such a loving, caring, and a one-of-a-kind person who will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Pareti (Robert); grandchildren, Corinne Pareti (Joseph), Rebecca Howes (Bradley) and Robert Pareti Jr. (Brittni); great-grandchildren, Carson and Abigail Howes and numerous nieces and nephews. Carolina is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, George LaBorde; parents, Edward and Christina Kattengell; seven brothers and two sisters. Relatives and friends attended the visitation and funeral service held in the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 Highway 51 North, Ponchatoula, Louisiana, on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Interment: St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery, New Orleans LA.
