Carolyn Dupre Morici

Carolyn Dupre Morici passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 25, 2021, after bravely battling a brief illness. She was born in New Orleans to the late Louis Pierre Dupre Sr and Edna Solis Dupre on July 14, 1937. St. Bernard has been her home since 1960. Carol is the loving and devoted wife of Vincent (Buddy) Morici Jr. for 65 years. She is the mother of Marion Schubert (RJ), Vincent (John) Morici III (Maria), David Morici and Melissa Plaisance. Carol is adored by her grandchildren Derek Schubert (Tabetha), Amanda Balli (Johnny), Stephanie Morici (Cameron), Donald Plaisance and Allison Morici. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Aubrey, Paisley, Chandler and Austin who held a special place in her heart. She is the great-grandmother of soon to be baby Schubert and baby Plaisance. She is preceded in death by her only brother Louis Dupre Jr. (Cindy). She is the godmother of Louis Dupre III. Carol was an avid sports fan, but most of all New Orleans Saints football. Carol was a Mardi Gras fanatic and that passion was passed down through the generations. She was an excellent bowler for many years. She also coached at Community Park and loved her girls like her own. Carol became a bus driver for St. Bernard Parish Schools after being a homemaker while raising four children. She took pride in her job and made all who came in contact with her feel special. Her greatest joy however came from spending time with her family. Carol will be deeply missed by many dear friends and family that adored her. The family would like to thank all those who were so kind during this journey. We would also like to thank her doctors and staff from East Jefferson Hospital and Ochsner Medical Center. A special thanks to Harmony Hospice, especially Nonnie, Sherry and Keisa for their unwavering support. Relatives and friends attended a visitation followed by a Funeral Mass held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Interment: St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette, LA. To view and sign the family guestbook, please visit www.stbernardmemorial.com.
