Louis Peter Guerra passed away in his home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the age of 92. He was born in New Orleans, LA, on April 17, 1929, to the late Caroline Schenck Guerra and Joseph Guerra. Louis was a devoted husband to his wife of 73 years, Loretta Augustine, whom he married on July 27, 1948. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy and resident of St. Bernard Parish. True to his hard-working nature, after retirement from a management position with Kaiser Aluminum, he kept busy by renovating his own home and many others in the St. Bernard area, traveling and going to the casino with his wife. Louis was a loving family man with a kind and generous spirit who was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be forever in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his siblings, the late George, Joseph, David, Henry and Caroline. He is survived by his wife Loretta Guerra, son Louis R. Guerra Sr. (Trudy), daughter Miriam Herbert (Ronnie), and grandchildren Louis R. Guerra Jr. (JoAnn) and Melissa Herbert (fiancé Ty), and great-grandchildren Corinne, Kylie, and Brady Guerra.
