Gregory G. Helmstetter Sr. passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 59. He was the beloved father of Gregory G. Helmstetter Jr. and Nicole Louise Helmstetter. Son of the late Raymond and Jeannette Frank Helmstetter. Brother of Glenn D. Helmstetter Sr., Gwen H. Samples and Vickie H. Palermo. Proud grandfather of Cecileigh Helmstetter and Troy Lauga III. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Gregory was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard parish where he was the owner of Greg’s Plumbing, LLC. When he wasn’t hard at work, he would often be found hunting with friends or laughing and playing with his grandkids. He will be forever remembered as our loving and loyal father, grandfather, brother and a friend of many, who respected a hard day’s work and treasured time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a memorial service in Gregory’s memory beginning at 1 p.m. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
