Leon John Vedrenne Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 77. He was the cherished husband of Elsie M. Vedrenne for 57 years. Loving father of Kim V. Manalla and Leon J. Vedrenne Jr. Son of the late Edward and Josephine Dastugue Vedrenne. Brother of Eleonora King and the late Edward Vederenne & Ronnie Vedrenne. Proud grandfather of Nicole M. Lafrance (Cliff), Nathan Manalla (Cheraimie) and Neal Manalla. Great grandfather of Hannah, Alexander “Alec,” Ashton & Ella Lafrance, Kayla, Mya & Cecelia Manalla, and Briana & Tatum Burkett. Great-great-grandfather of Owen Hornsby. He is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Leon was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather and a friend of many who loved her friends and treasured his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service in his memory afterward. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
