Rita Pacaccio Krass passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2016 at the age of 93. She was the cherished wife of the late Melvin J. Krass for 59 years. Loving mother of Betty K. Petone (Tony) and Lynn K. Downs (John). Daughter of the late Joseph Pacaccio and Melanina Damiani Pacaccio. Sister of Anthony Pacaccio, Doris Zehner, Angelina Oster and the late Joseph Pacaccio, Albert Pacaccio, Thomas Pacaccio, Louis Pacaccio, Raphael Siragusa and Mary Laurant. Proud grandmother of David Petone (Tammy), Anthony Petone, Brian Petone Sr. (Tammy), Shelly Downs and Cody Downs. Great grandmother of Brian Petone Jr., Kayla Petone, Justin Petone and Alyssa Petone. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Rita was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish. Rita was an avid reader, she enjoyed gardening and especially looked forward to meeting with her Pokeno Card Club. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home in Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
