Margaret Rodney entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Preceded in death by spouse James Turner, Sr., Father, Philip Mitchell, Sr., Stepmother, Evelyn Mitchell, Mother, Claudia Lee Arceneaux; siblings, Cecelia Viola and Philip Mitchell, Jr. and son, Dr. Lester Rodney. She is survived by former spouse, Ulysses Rodney, Sr.; sisters, Alice Grant, Ethel Simpson and Patricia Young; children, Dr. James Turner, Jr., Ulysses Rodney, Jr., Claudia Smith and Linda Parson; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services will be held at Chalmette Church of Christ, 200 De La Ronde, Chalmette, LA on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Repast to follow. Visitation starts at 9 a.m. in the church. Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion handled the arrangements.
