David Ray Hix passed away at his earthly home in Meraux, LA and entered his heavenly home on Monday, July 24, 2017 at the age of 69. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Meraux, and was born on October 5, 1947 to the late Johnny and Mary Young Hix in Fort Worth, TX. David served his country as a member of the United States Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He spent his childhood in Fort Worth graduating from Polytechnic High School and then lived in various places in Texas before moving to Louisiana in 2006. It was there he met and married Lori Ann Mennesses on August 12, 2006 and made their home in Meraux. David is survived by his wife Lori; one brother, Lyndel Hix ( Brenda ) of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Colleen Martin (Clay) of Arlington, TX; one son, Trent Hix of Colorado; mother in law, Catherine Menesses of Meraux, LA; sister in law, Donna Cochran (Mickey). Also survived by three nephews, three nieces, various great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. A Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive on Th ursday, July 27, 2017. Interment was at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA.
