Floyd J. Landry Jr. passed away on September 23, 2017 at the age of 64. He was born on December 14, 1952. Floyd graduated from St. Bernard High School as Valedictorian in 1970. After earning a Petroleum Engineering degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1974, he began his career with Shell Oil Company. Over his 33 year career he received various promotions to become the Senior Production Engineer for the Coastal Division of Shell Oil. He retired from Shell in 2007 as the operations manager of the MARS project which was the largest single producing oil field in the Gulf. He enjoyed being a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Floyd will be sadly missed by his wife Deana Dobbs Landry; his two sons, Ryan and Jason Landry; his step-daughters Ashleigh and Carrie; his former wife Kim Jacob; his daughter-inlaw Yessica and intended daughter-in-law Liz; his grandchildren Nashia, Brock, and Mia; his beloved mother and father Floyd and Josie Landry; and his brothers Bobby (Lisa), Kerry (Linda) and Wayne (Riki). Godson of Catherine Perez and the late Minos Landry. He also has a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends. Visitation was held at Most Holy Trinity Church, where he was the President of the Church Parish Council, in Pass Christian, Mississippi followed by mass. Floyd was laid to rest at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, where a gathering took place afterwards at Iverson Hall next to St. Bernard Catholic Church.
