Kim Lewis Mills passed away in a tragic accident on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the age of 53. She was the cherished fianceé of Serdar Tiglioglu. Devoted and loving mother of Dustin Riggio, Artie DeJean, Chad Young, Tori  Besch (Donald), Tyler DeJean and the late Brent Young. Daughter of Kay. P. Lewis and the late Jules Patin. Step-daughter of the late Frank A. Lewis, Jr. Sister of Rebecca Tipton, Frank Lewis III, Terry Lewis, Bridget Kronlage and the late Lisa Lewis, Rickie Lewis, Dennis Lewis and Kirk Lewis Sr. Proud grandmother of Mia Fortier, Halle Riggio, Jordan Riggio, Lilly Kay Besch and Stella DeJean. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and dear friends. Kim was born in New Orleans, LA and was a longtime resident of Picayune, MS where she enjoyed a career as an Activities Coordinator with Anderson at Summerfield where she cared for her 36 patients suffering from Alzheimer’s. When not caring for others, Kim loved sitting on the porch of her home, enjoying the views of her garden with a cup of coffee, listening to the birds sing. She truly enjoyed life through her simple pleasures of gardening, spending time sharing stories and laughing with friends and family and, of course, loving her grandchildren. Kim was deeply devoted to her Lord and Savior as a parishioner of Northshore Church in Slidell, LA and was never without her Bible. To know her was to love her, for she gave her heart and soul to all whom she loved. She was a bright light and encouraging person who always had heart-warming words for everyone she met. She was a friend to many and generously helped those less fortunate than her. She was well loved and affectionately known for her good nature, generous heart, amazing smile and served as a wonderful example of what it means to care for others. Relatives and friends attended an evening visitation and service held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She was laid to rest in a private ceremony. Kim was a warm and shining star that burned bright in everyone’s life, so many came in color to celebrate her very memorable life.
