Barbara LaScala Tassin passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 77. She was the cherished wife of the late Raymond Tassin, and by previous marriage, the late Louis Dembrun Jr. Former wife of Donald St. Germain Sr. Loving mother of Donald St. Germain Jr. (Karen), Karen St. Germain and Mark St. Germain (Kristie). Mother-in-law of the late Deborah St. Germain. Daughter of the late Joseph LaScala and Lorraine Landry Friedlander. Sister of Christopher Friedlander, Lorraine Brown, Donna Gonzales and the late Joseph LaScala Jr. Proud grandmother of Elizabeth Martinez, Holly Marshall, Michelle Mason, Elizabeth Freer, Katherine McKinnon, Ryan McKinnon, Kirstie St. Germain, Erica St. Germain and the late Christopher St. Germain. Great grandmother of Rafe Martinez, Cullen Martinez, Preston Martinez, Michal Kittrell and D’Mond Mason. Barbara was born in New Orleans, LA and was a current resident of Ponchatoula, LA. She enjoyed a long career as a General Manager of the Headquarters Company in New Orleans. She was a member of AARP Chapter 5408 and past member of the Shangri-La Carnival Krewe. She found pleasure in the details of everyday life and caring deeply for her family and friends. She was well loved and will be forever remembered as a loving and loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, who spoiled her grandchildren and treasured her family. Relatives and friends attended a visitation and funeral service held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, October 16, 2017.
