John Walton, Jr., departed this world on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Good Samaritan Rehab and Nursing Center after a brief illness at the age of 89. He was born on March 14, 1928 in Plaquemine, LA. He was a retired supervisor of the former Avondale Ship Yard site. John is survived by his sister Virginia (Dorothy) Thornton, daughter-in-law Lucille Walton, grandchildren John Walton and Kennedra Miller, five great grandchildren and devoted Caregivers Virginia Brooks and Jennifer Jones. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. He was a former member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church here in New Orleans. Relatives and Friends of the family attended the Homegoing Celebration on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chief Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA.
