Joseph “Big Joe” Terre a native of New Orleans and a resident of St. Bernard Parish for the past 12 years, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at the age of 86. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in some way throughout his life. He was the cherished husband of Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Terre for 62 years. Loving father of Linda Terre, Michael Terre (Lynne) and the late Joseph Terre Jr. Son of the late Bertrand Terre and Rosalie Barone Terre. Brother of Rosalyn Mulkey, Annette Anderson and the late Harry, Robbie and Ronnie Frosch. Proud grandfather of David Terre (Dawn), Donna Terre, Shane Terre (Tina), Kristine Moran (Joshua), Jennifer Chatellier (Kent) and the late Michael Terre Jr. He is also survived and fondly remembered by his 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Joseph was well loved and will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his family and friends. Joseph was passionate about training horses and was greatly rewarded by the years he spent at the New Orleans Fairgrounds and Jefferson Downs. Relatives and friends attended a visitation to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, April 5, 2018, followed by a funeral service in Joseph’s memory. He was laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens.
