John Michael Hemstreet, a Supervisory Auditor, passed away after a long struggle with cancer in Chalmette, LA, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 67. He was born June 4, 1951 to Marcella Bailey Hemstreet and the late Frank Silas Hemstreet, Jr., in New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife Angelica of 42 years; his four children, Mikey, Paul, Alisha, and Alison; his daughters-in-law, Amanda and Candace; his son-in-law, Brian; and his four grandchildren, Amelie, Alydia, Brady, and Eben. John will forever be remembered for his infectious laugh, his can-do attitude, and his kind heart. In lieu of flowers, please indulge in a corny joke with your loved ones, as John would have done with you. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in his memory at Our lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd, Chalmette, LA. on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
