Robert Christian Bracamontes Jr. "Uncle Bob" was born on February 14, 1936 and passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on August 22, 2018 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gail Bracamontes, his brother Westley Bracamontes and his parents Robert and Beatrice Bracamontes. He is survived and fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Janice Bracamontes, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Robert was born in New Orleans, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 56 years. Following hurricane Katrina, he settled in Luling, LA for the past 13 years until his death. He was employed by Domino Sugar Refinery in Chalmette for 32 years and became the EOC Director of St. Bernard Parish for the next 20-plus years until his retirement. Bob will always be remembered as a devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews. He was well loved and affectionately known for his good nature and generous heart. Relatives and friends were invited to attend an evening visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, August 27, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation took place on Tuesday morning, August 28, 2018 at Holy Family Church, 155 Holy Family Ln., Luling, LA from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in Robert's memory beginning at 11 a.m. He was laid to rest in McDonoghville Cemetery in Gretna, LA.
