Franciso Patrick Omes passed away on September 24, 2018 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. Franciso was born and raised in the Lower Ninth Ward during the golden age of New Orleans. He was the son of the late Bernado Omes and Anselma Puga. Beloved brother of Carmen Wiemer, Alicia Gilmore, Victorio Omes, Carlos Omes, and Ramon Omes. His nickname to all was “Uncle Frank,” and his heart was bigger than the moon. Uncle Frank worked his entire career in the oyster business, which was also the family business; as a shucker and a foreman. While Uncle Frank had several passions in his life including Alabama football, the New Orleans Saints and eating spicy food. His numero uno passion was his numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces. While a committed bachelor his whole life, he was very much involved in the rearing of generations of nephews and nieces his spirit lives on within them. A celebration of life and graveside service for “Uncle Frank” was held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity FuneralHome, Covington, LA.
