Constance Marie George

Constance Marie George entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Harry Joseph George, Jr., and Dorothy Mae Singleton George. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Harvey, LA. She was a member of Regular Baptist Church, Gretna LA., for many years. In 2008, she placed her membership at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church and served diligently under the leadership of her son, Pastor Travis A. George. She was the mother of the church, a devoted choir member, bible study member and vacation bible school member until her health declined. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School of Marrero, LA., class of 1963. She also received a degree in Paralegal Studies from Philips Jr. College. She was a retired employee by Weiser Security Inc., at Chalmette Refining. She was a devoted volunteer at Estelle Community Center in Marrero, LA. Beloved daughter of the late Harry Joseph George, Jr., and Dorothy Mae Singleton George. Loving mother of Pastor Travis A. George (Veronica) Pastor of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, New Orleans, LA and the late Kari Dean George. Sister of Rogenia George, Jennifer George-Matthews, Vanessa George Diggins (Benjamin), Julie George-LaVigne, Barbara George Coleman, Lynette George-Morrison, Keisha Seward (Jack); Harry George III, Alton George, Steven George (Robin), Lynn George; and the late Cheryl Lynn George. Grandmother of Travis A. Harris, Sr. and Damien G. Francis, Sr.; Great grandmother of Travis A. Harris, Jr., Taliyah Harris, Tariq Harris, Damien G. Francis, Jr., and DaLayah Samaj Artis Francis. Godmother of Tyrone Claiborne, Percy Johnson, Jr., and Jennifer George-Matthews. She is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and Friends of the Family, also Pastors, Officers and Members of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church of New Orleans, Regular B. C. of Gretna, & all neighboring churches; members of Louisiana Freedman Missionary Baptist General Association; brothers of Gamma Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.; Notre Dame Hospice of New Orleans; Estelle Community Center, Marrero, La., and Weiser Security Chalmette Refining are all invited to attend the Funeral Service on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, 3016 College Ct., New Orleans, LA 70125, Rev. Travis A. George, Pastor. Pastor Antoine R. Jacobs, Officiating. Visitation is from 8 a.m.–10 a.m. No final viewing. Interment in McDonough Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
