George E. Boesch, Jr.

George E. Boesch, Jr., of Mandeville, formerly of Chalmette, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born on September 2, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to George E. Boesch, Sr. and Frieda Anna Schmidt. George is survived by his beloved wife, Gail Grusich Boesch; his children Debra Boesch Miller (Charles), James Boesch (Anna), Michael Boesch (Darlene), Julie Boesch Vasquez (Jesse), Charles “Chuck” Boesch, Karen Boesch, Nicole Didier Norris, and Yvette Didier Hogan; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Boesch Huber and many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his son George “Rusty” E. Boesch, III, his sister Sandra Boesch Roth, and his parents. George was a graduate of John Mc Donogh High School, a United States Army veteran, a retired fireman from the New Orleans Fire Department, and owner of Convention Security Services He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, a member of AARP Chapter 5408, Our Lady of the Lake Faith & Fun, the Knights of Columbus Council 9240 and a 4th degree Knight belonging to Assembly 2467. His love of Mardi Gras was evident by his active membership in the Krewe of Thoth and the Pete Fountain Half Fast Walking Club. George had an amazing love for life, his family and friends. He loved Tulane and was a long time season ticket holder for his beloved New Orleans Saints. In his free time he enjoyed the beach and traveling. He will be dearly missed by so many that loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. with visitation at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. A Rosary will be said at the church at 11:30 AM.
