Salvadora “Dora” Culotta Colombo passed away at the age of 94 on June 22, 2020. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. She was immensely loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Vincent Colombo, Jr.; father, Philip V. Culotta; mother, Josephine C. Culotta; her stepmother Josephine M. Culotta; her sisters, Lena C. Mullet (Butz) and Angelina C. Mullet (Russ). She is survived by her children Vincent Colombo III (Laura); Philip V. Colombo (Angela); Josephine “Jo” Couvillion (Allen); Joseph Colombo (Sharlene). Grandmother of Tina C. Glissman (John), Carly C. Johnson (Derek), Alise C. McClung (Christian), Aubree C. Jarrett (Neil), Phillip P. Keller (Laura); Shannon (George) Arch and Alicia Couvillion, Scott Ulloa (Jessica), Brandi Hitchcock(Jeff), and Briana King (Slayden). Great-grandmother of John, Jace, Jena, and Jade Glissman, Jude J. Jarrett, Charlotte L. and Emma Johnson, David Roman Keller, Phillip P. Keller, Jr., Ava and George Arch III, and Gabriel Couvillion, Peyton, Madison, Sophia Hitchcock and Jaxon, Bentley, Olivia King, and Dalia Ulloa. She will also be fondly remembered by Rosemary F. Buras (Larry), her cousin who was more like a sister and her children, Laurie (Guy), Lynell (David) and Larry (Genia), and grand-children (Brendan, Guy, Shelby, Garrett, Hannah, David, Luke, Joel, and Ava). She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dora loved to dance, and danced every chance she had, even into her 90’s. She enjoyed joining her family and friends on the bus to the casinos, up until a year ago. Naomi "Ruth" Wyant Escott Morales passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on June 17, 2020 in Kenner, LA, at the age of 77. Ruth began her adventure in life on January 7, 1943 in Vermont and grew up in Stanhope, New Jersey. She was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 40 years before relocating to Jayess, MS after Hurricane Katrina. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 30 years, Allen Pasqual Morales. For over three decades, Allen was her rock. She was his love, his soulmate and to us she was his world as he was hers. Mother of Colette Pieczynski (Joe), Margaret "Peggy" Hirschey (Ben), Michele Escott Briggs (Jeff, Sr.), Soyana M. Escott, Gwen L. Scott and the late Diana A. Escott. Grandmother to Jacqueline Pieczynski, Joseph Pieczynski, III, Victoria Pieczynski, Timothy Zimmer, Jessica Zimmer, Jeffrey Briggs, Jr., Kalani Briggs, Krina Couture, Norma "Lina" Jackson, Steven Jackson, Jr. (Heidi), Louie Jackson, Misty Jackson, Glenn Hale, Jr. (Amber), Michael Hale, Bryan Hale and Katie Hale and great-grandmother to 15 and great-great-grandmother to one. She is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Former wife of the late Arthur "Mike" Escott. Ruth had a large heart and was always lending a hand to those in need. She had a high energy level and was always on the go. She enjoyed going on cruises and vacations with family, going to parades and festivals, playing cards, camping and boating and of course, playing BINGO and taking bus trips to local casinos where she was luckier than most. Vincent Joseph Culotta passed away peacefully while surrounded by his daughters on June 18, 2020 at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Roberts Culotta. Loving Father of Charlotte LaFond (Peter), Helayne Abston (Don), and Carla Jeansonne (Rene’). Born September 1, 1928, to the late Joseph and Mary Del Buono Culotta. Brother of the late Anna Taranto, Catherine Duncan, Philip Culotta, Sally Villar, Agatha Kennedy, Charles Culotta, and Mary Daigrepont. Proud grandfather of Kara Jeansonne Trombini, Brent Jeansonne, and Lane Abston. Great-grandfather of Calvin and Colette Trombini and Leighton Jeansonne. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Vincent was a proud native of Chalmette, LA and a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, where he enjoyed a long career with Murphy Oil, retiring in 1988. He will be fondly remembered for the full beer keg he always had at his house for visitors, the enormous Good Friday crawfish boils he threw, his prolific garden full of Creole tomatoes, and above all his sweet spirit and generous heart. Charles "Mr. Charlie" Vincent Perniciaro, Sr., of Arabi, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2020, at the age of 92. He was born November 18, 1927, to the late Peter Perniciaro and the late Santa Canzoneri. He is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, the late Leon Perniciaro, and the late Joseph Perniciaro, and by his wife of 64 years, the late Leah Herkes Perniciaro. He is survived by his two sons, Charles Perniciaro, Jr. and David Perniciaro; his daughter-in-law, Nicolle Perniciaro (Charles), and his two grandsons, Charles Perniciaro, III, and Nicolas Perniciaro. Mr. Charlie was a pleasant man who will be remembered for his cheerful spirit, caring heart, cap-wearing, cigar-toting, hard work ethic, and generosity. He had a keen memory of generations upon generations of the students who attended Carolyn Park Elementary School, in Arabi, where he was fondly known as "The Candy Man." He worked at Carolyn Park Elementary School for over 30 years, winning numerous awards, including Beautification awards for planting and maintaining his amazing gardens around the school grounds. He went above and beyond his custodial duties throughout his career, winning Custodian of the Year several times. He put 100 percent and more of his heart and hard work into every job he performed, which included working at the Slaughter House in Arabi, the Harbor Police Department in New Orleans, the Chiffon room, and the Tiffany Room in Chalmette, as well as Johnny Gallo's produce stand, the St. Bernard Parish School System, and his own grass cutting service, among many others. His favorite pastime was growing Creole Tomatoes to eat, enjoy, and give away to his many friends. His family would like to extend a special thanks to all those who helped make Mr. Charlie feel loved and appreciated, including Debbie Lawson, Roberta Steward, Pellegrini's, the St. Bernard Sheriff's Department, the team at Metropolitan Dialysis Center, in Chalmette, where he was dialyzed for the past three years, as well as to his many friends. Florence Wheeler Lapara passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 93. She was a homemaker and lived her life for her loving husband of 47 years, her children and grandchildren - family was most important to her. She enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, and was an avid seamstress and artist. She was a member of the carnival Krewes of Shangri La and Aphrodite, and the New Orleans Garden Club and Salvation Army Ladies' Auxiliary, both in which she served terms as Secretary. Betty Hildenbrand Sammons passed away peacefully on May 30, 2020 at the age of 88 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a longtime resident of Chalmette, LA, residing in Kenner, LA for the past 15 years. She was the loving mother of Gail Samons Sperandeo (Sidney) and Kenneth Raymond Samons (Diane); proud grandmother of Melissa Stabile Carlomagno (Dino II), Dwayne Samons (Allison) and Kelly Samons; and great-grandmother of Camryn McGregor, Vyctoria "Tori", Beau and Rhett Samons. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Markaverich, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lawrence Louis Hildenbrand and Mildred Meyer Hildenbrand, and her sister, Audrey (Forschler) Hutchings. Betty was a homemaker during her early adult life and worked with a seamstress friend altering dance revue costumes. In 1977, she went to work as a bank teller for First National Bank of St. Bernard Parish. A few years later, she got an opportunity to work for The Adherence Group as a demurrage clerk until she retired in 1992. Betty's first and foremost love was spending time with her family and was always ready for any special occasion or outing with them. Her other favorite past time was shopping for clothes and any bargain, but she also enjoyed dining out, dancing, reading and cruises. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice for their care of her during the last six weeks of her life. A special thank you to her nurse, Alisha, for being so attentive and compassionate at all times. Sylvia Bothman Lemoine passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. The beloved wife of Gene Lemoine, Sr. for 64 years, Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ulrick and Sidney Bothman, and her siblings Sandra and Sidney Jr. A New Orleans native and a St. Tammany resident post-Katrina, Sylvia was both the heart and backbone of her family. She loved spending time with her extended family, which included three children, Gene, Jr. (Joy), Cynthia (Dennis), and Barry (Katherine), as well as her four-legged son, Shockey. She was also the much-loved MeMe to seven grandchildren Chase, Gene, Jennifer, Jessica, and Samantha Lemoine, as well as Cody and DJ Knecht. MeMe Syl also had seven great-grandchildren - Ava, Ayden, Charlee, Cora, Isabella, Kane, and Stella. To know Syl was to love her. Her warmth, kindness, and love of a good time endeared her to people of all ages and walks of life. Some of her other favorite activities included traveling across the country and Europe with her husband, Gene, and spending Thursday afternoons with the “girls” for lunch, drinks, shopping, and some more drinks. She treasured her years living in New Orleans East, making lifelong friends with families at Kerry Curley Playground and Resurrection of Our Lord School. Sylvia was a great cook and host and always wanted guests to eat and drink in her home. But mostly, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and MeMe. She loved dancing, attending Broadway shows, and getting her hair done on Fridays. A beautiful lady inside and out with a personality larger than life, Sylvia will be greatly missed by all who knew her in this life and will be warmly welcomed by all of her family and friends who await her in heaven - in the smoking section. Lee Joseph “LJ” Sartalamacchia passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2020 due to natural causes. He was born on October 16, 1970 and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. Son of the late Deborah Raffield Garcia and Robert Garcia, Anthony Joseph (AJ) and Mary Sartalamacchia, and the late Thomas Michael Barrs. LJ was the proud father of Haleigh Sartalamacchia and Codi Bourgeois, loving companion of Jessica Frey for 23 years and loving brother to Cherie Sartalamacchia, Trisha Arabie, Robert Giraldi, Summer Barrs Bartholomew, and many nieces, nephews, and countless family and friends. Lee was a skilled roofer, a very hard worker, and a kind-hearted good person. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend most of his time at the hunting camp amongst friends. He will be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family and friends. He will be tremendously missed by all who knew him. Florene Blevins, née Brantley, of Brenham, Texas passed away on June 24, 2020 at the age of 95. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 76 years, Ralph; her parents; siblings Tom, Mae, Stella, Helen and Bette; daughter Sue and sons-in-law Bennie and Gene. Flo is survived by her beloved children Linda Blevins Fitzwater of New Ulm, Texas and Timothy R. Blevins (Mark Yeager) of Oakland, California. She is also survived by her “adopted” son Mui Qui Bong (Dan Kim Tam) of Spring, Texas and her grandchildren Vy, Ylan and Dan and their respective spouses and her great-grandchildren. Flo was born and raised in Purcell, Oklahoma. She met Ralph at church, and they married in July 1942 shortly before his Navy service in WWII. Flo and Ralph moved to New Orleans in 1952 for him to attend seminary. For many years she yearned to return to Oklahoma but eventually Arabi became her home and she and Ralph lived there for over 50 years. In the beginning, Flo didn’t much want to be a pastor’s wife but was always Ralph’s rock through thick and thin. In 1959, Flo established the preschool and kindergarten programs at the First Baptist Church of Arabi. She taught and then directed these programs for some 24 years before retiring. Flo had a passion and love for children and for helping them be prepared for their school careers and later lives. Hurricane Katrina swept away Flo’s New Orleans-based life and she and her husband moved to Brenham to be near their daughter. Although she always missed Arabi, New Orleans and the many beloved church members from over the years, she developed a fondness for Brenham and the new friends she made. There was a private family funeral service on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastors Ross Shelton and Troy Sikes officiating. Gloria Vinsanau Earhart went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Milton Earhart Sr. Loving mother of Milton Earhart Jr. (Janet), Beryl Porche (Jerry) and Nadine Michelle (Frank). Daughter of the late Clement Vinsanau Sr. and Maud Dauterive Vinsanau. Sister of Clement Vinsanau Jr. (Linda). Proud grandmother of Elden Earhart (Shawn), Craig Earhart (Theresa), Trista Nash (Doug), Jason Michelle (Suzette), Brad Michelle (Suhan), Shana Silcio (Chad) and the late Ryan Porche. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gloria was born on December 9, 1923 in New Orleans, LA. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Slidell, LA. She was a member of the Slidell Newcomers Club and enjoyed many friendships and activities, especially their weekly Pokeno party. She was also a former member of AARP Chapter 1765. Gloria also loved going to the casinos and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched. Melinda Mary Ebel, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at home with her family at the age of 41. She was born September 6, 1978, and was from Chalmette, LA. She is the daughter of Debra M. Ebel and the late Walter J. Ebel, Jr. She has three children, Kristen Seuzeneau, Blake Hurt and Keelie Hurt, also 1 grandchild Azalyn Seuzeneau. Two brothers, Walter J. Ebel, III., (Vicki) and Jeffrey M. Ebel. She is also survived by nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Also, her long-time partner Michael Michalic. She is preceded in death by grandparents, Peter & Gloria Maggio and Walter & Arriola (Babe) Ebel. Melinda was a long-time resident of Chalmette Louisiana but resided in New Orleans for the past five years. Malcolm H. “Mickey” Faxon, Sr.
Malcolm H. “Mickey” Faxon, Sr. Malcolm H. “Mickey” Faxon, Sr. went on to enjoy eternity with his beloved wife, Lillian Mae Burtanog Faxon, on June 24, 2020. He was born on January 14, 1931 in Rochester, NY, and was preceded in death by his parents, Howard George Faxon and Eleanor Waite Faxon, brother Kenneth Faxon, and stepson Dudley J. Richoux. A native of Vermont, he grew up partly in the Kurn Hattin Home for Children, and later a farm in Pawlet, VT, with his grandparents Percy and Rachel Waite. He often expressed his appreciation of the Kurn Hattin homes for being a solid foundation for him and his brothers and was a lifelong contributor to the home. At age 19, Mickey joined the army, serving with merit in the Korean War. His medals and citations include the United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal with Silver Service Star, and a Meritorious Unit Emblem. He went to Camp Leroy Johnson in New Orleans after taking shrapnel in the knee in Korea, and there in New Orleans he met the love of his life, Lillian Mae Burtanog. He fell in love, and when he was discharged in 1954 and given a plane ticket back to Vermont, he re-enlisted, proposed to Mae, and married her in July of that year. He took on the responsibilities of fatherhood with her three children, and they built their own family, living in New Orleans, Chalmette, and finally, Picayune, MS. He lived a full and fruitful life, always on his own terms. Mickey Faxon, Sr. is survived by his brothers Allen Faxon (Kathy) and Thomas Faxon, children Darla Faxon Davis (Clayton), Tracy Faxon Falgoust (Daniel Wilson), Malcolm Faxon, Jr (Lisa), and Todd Faxon, as well as stepchildren Wayne Richoux (Crystal) and Rhonda Richoux. He was loved and respected by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, in-laws and outlaws, and his brothers at the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 16. Evelyn Baudoin Hawkins entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the age of 83, due to post-surgery complications. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and most recently resided in Metairie. She was the cherished wife of the late Thomas O. Hawkins for 57 years. Loving mother of Peggy H. Morgan (Henry), Bradley T. Hawkins (Wynona), Marianne H. Sabrier (Steve), and Geoffrey Hawkins. Daughter of the late Willis Baudoin and Josephine Bourgeois Baudoin. Sister of Marilyn Slattery, and the late Elsie Punch, Dorothy Guillory, Willis Baudoin Jr., Richard Baudoin and Judy Salinger. Proud grandmother of Nichole, Garold, Kristy, Kenny, Travis, Jason, Jared and Melissa. Also survived and fondly remembered by 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. MSGT. Harry Joseph “Buddy” Hebert, Jr.
MSGT. Harry Joseph “Buddy” Hebert, Jr. moved on to his eternal home in heaven on June 20, 2020 at the age of 78. He was born on December 26, 1941 in New Orleans, LA and resided in Chalmette, LA for well over 40 years. He moved to Slidell, LA in 2005 and resided there for the remainder of his life. He was a highly decorated veteran of the United States Armed Forces for over 28 years, serving in the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Air National Guard; stationed at The Jackson Barracks 214th E 1 Squadron. While in the military he traveled all over the world and fell in love with Germany in particular. During his time in the military he was also enrolled in classes at St. Bernard Community College and later transferred to the University of New Orleans where he studied a broad array of subjects from horticulture to the medical field. His world travel contributed to his extensive knowledge of history and historical architecture and his education led to his being well rounded and educated in many facets of life. After his retirement from the military he became an Assistant Librarian at Nunez Community College for a few years. He always had the best advice to give his loved ones and was always the smartest man in the room. He loved watching the History Channel, playing UNO and watching movies with the family, eating ice cream and catching a good deal on anything. His was a life well lived. He loved to laugh and pass a good time by cutting up and cracking jokes with his family. His family was everything to him and he was everything to us. He laid a rock-solid foundation of love and laughs to last us a lifetime. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him. But we will all be together again one day. He leaves behind an unmatched legacy of love, laughter and good times with his family and friends. Even though he’s gone from us now, he still lives on in every one of us. His body just couldn’t contain his awesomeness anymore, so he had to go home. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years Elaine C. Hebert and his loving children Sheree Hebert Davis (Mike) and Harry J. Hebert, III. He was an amazing Grandfather to Ryan A. Simon (Brittany), Aaron M. Davis (Kasey), and Seth J. Davis (Samantha) and an awesome Great-Grandfather to Abby, Kensey, Kylie and Kinley. He is also survived by his remaining brother Ned F. Hebert, Sr. and his brother-in-law Frank Chartier (Donna). He is loved by a host of many nieces, nephews and Godchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry J. Hebert, Sr. and Velma B. Hebert, sister Esma, brothers Chester “Chet” Hebert and Gerard “Jay” Hebert. Services will be officiated by Bro. Joey Matrone. Mrs. Patricia (Patty) Bush Robin
Mrs. Patricia (Patty) Bush Robin, a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and friend, was born on December 25, 1948 and passed peacefully in her home on June 22, 2020 surrounded by her family. She lived in Pearl River, Louisiana but was a long-time resident of St. Bernard Parish. She is survived by her husband, Leslie “Les” Robin Sr.; daughters, Dawn M. Sistrunk, Lisa M. Neal (Cory), Wendy M. Ryder (David); son, Leslie “Les” Robin Jr.; her brother, Earl Bush (Susan); and nine grandchildren, Eris Neal, Avery Neal, Lexton Abdo, Isabella Ryder, Shannah Sistrunk, Wyett Sistrunk, Eli Ryder, Audrey Ryder, and Carlton Sistrunk; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends that she truly loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl E. Bush, Sr. and Audrey M. Maas of New Orleans and her sisters, Joy Robin and Earlene Perez. Patty cherished her husband and family, delighted in tending to her garden, and had a passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Known for her loving and welcoming heart, it was often said that Patty ‘never met a stranger’, as she continually looked for ways to serve others with love. Patricia Robin will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue in the many lives she touched. Mary Ann Tines passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 82. Born September 9, 1937, she was from Kenner, LA, a former resident of Chalmette, LA and current resident of Pearl River, LA for over 40 years. She was the beloved wife of the late A.J. Tines for 62 years. She is survived by her beloved daughter Linda Ann Malbrough and son-in-law Wayne John Malbrough, grandmother to a Wayne John Malbrough, Jr., Brett Renaud Malbrough and Lauren Michelle Malbrough, great-grandmother to Jackson Renaud Malbrough, and daughter to the late Salvador Marino and Virginia Palazzo Marino. Survived by her sister Rosalie Marino Weber and brother Peter Marino. Her late sisters Rita Marino Bertolino, Antoinette Marino Downing, Louise Marino Orgeron, and Christine Marino Bonura. Her late brothers Joseph Marino, Leo Marino, and Ralph Marino. Mary Ann was a beautiful soul with a big heart. She was a devoted loving wife, most loving mother and inspirational grandmother. John N. Vickers, III
On Saturday, April 25, 2020, Louisiana’s community of funeral professionals lost an invaluable member, in the passing of John N. Vickers, III, at the age of 79. He was the devoted husband of Meredith “Dee” Lem oine Vickers. Loving father of John Joseph Vickers (Mindy), Debra Lynn Vickers (Troy LeBlanc), and Deral Lynn Morse (Ricky). Proud grandfather of Jonathan (Ashlyn Jessie), Payton, and Braden Vickers; Brandon and Amber Gross, and Tiffany Droddy (Patrick); Dani and Derrick Morse; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; John N. Vickers, Jr. and Bernice Barnes Vickers, grandchildren; baby Steven Andrew Vickers and infant twins Alexandra LyNann Morse and Taylor Alexander Morse. John embarked on his illustrious career in the funeral industry after graduating from Common Wealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas, and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Louisiana in 1965. A two-term president of the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, John served the families of the greater New Orleans area with professionalism and compassion for a total of 55 years. He moved from Baton Rouge in 1972, to St. Bernard Parish, where he was the manager of Lamana Panno Fallo Funeral Home until it’s acquirement by Stewart Enterprises. John subsequently managed and worked for St. Bernard Memorial until opening and managing his own funeral home, Vickers, Verrette, and Dornan, from 2000-2005. He ultimately became synonymous with funeral service in St. Bernard Parish. John played an instrumental role in the recovery and identification of Hurricane Katrina’s true victims, as well as the restoration of numerous cemeteries after Hurricanes Katrina and Isaac. He was an active member of the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team, Region VI, for 20 years, as well as an instructor for the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness. Outside of his career as a funeral director and embalmer, John thrived by giving back to his community. He was a Lieutenant of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, a collaborator of the Louisiana Job Training Partnership Act, and a past president of the Rotary Club of St. Bernard, where he was the founding chairman of the St. Bernard Junior Miss Scholarship Program. In recent years, John was a funeral director at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, where he dutifully worked until the day before his admission to the hospital. There, he received a diagnosis of aggressive pancreatic cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, he passed away peacefully, in his home, a few days later. Delayed by coronavirus restrictions, relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering and celebration of John’s life to be held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Angele Marie Veillon Chaplain
Angele Marie Veillon Chaplain passed away at her home on April 8, 2020 after fighting a courageous battle against cancer at the age of 47. She was the loving wife of Eric Joseph Chaplain for 19 years. Loving mother of Taylor E. Chaplain, Tyler J. Chaplain, Emily J. Chaplain, Kelley M. Chaplain, Logan E. Chaplain, and Spencer J. Chaplain. Loving daughter of Larry Veillon and Elaine Pellegrin Veillon. She was the grandmother of Adalyn, Quinn, and Kirill. Daughter-in-law of Fay Francioni Chaplain. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, cousins, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Angele was born on July 22, 1972 in New Orleans, LA. She grew up in Metairie, LA, where she attended St. Catherine of Siena School. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy, Sioux class of 1990. Angele attended LSU and graduated from UNO with a Bachelor of Arts. On March 10, 2001, she married Eric Joseph Chaplain. In 2007, they moved to St. Bernard where they continued to raise their children. For several years, Angele worked for Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church as the parish secretary. She currently was the administrative assistant for the Archdiocese of New Orleans Office of Worship. Angele was a loving and faithful mother and wife. She loved New Orleans and Mardi Gras. Weekends during carnival season she could be found with her family celebrating on the parade route. She was devoted to her family, involved in every activity, and in attendance at every event. While her children attended Our Lady of Prompt Succor School in Chalmette, she always volunteered and served as the Parent Club President for three years. Summertime weekends were enjoyed at the swim club with her family and surrounded by friends. Angele and her husband Eric were truly the best of friends and enjoyed 21 wonderful years together. She loved the family dog, Fluffy, who brought her tremendous comfort and companionship. She was known for her kindness, generosity, positive outlook, radiant smile, welcoming nature, and her strong faith in God. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Veith and staff for their compassion and care throughout her hard fought journey. She will forever be loved and deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. A gathering of family and friends will be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Friday, July 10, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. All guests at Our Lady of Prompt Succor must be masked, and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Gloria Vinansau Earhart
Gloria Vinsanau Earhart went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 26, 2020 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Milton Earhart Sr. Loving mother of Milton Earhart Jr. (Janet), Beryl Porche (Jerry) and Nadine Michelle (Frank). Daughter of the late Clement Vinsanau Sr. and Maud Dauterive Vinsanau. Sister of Clement Vinsanau Jr. (Linda). Proud grandmother of Elden Earhart (Shawn), Craig Earhart (Theresa), Trista Nash (Doug), Jason Michelle (Suzette), Brad Michelle (Suhan), Shana Silcio (Chad) and the late Ryan Porche. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Gloria was born on December 9, 1923 in New Orleans, LA. She was a longtime resident of St. Bernard Parish and a current resident of Slidell, LA. She was a member of the Slidell Newcomers Club and enjoyed many friendships and activities, especially their weekly Pokeno party. She was also a former member of AARP Chapter 1765. Gloria also loved going to the casinos and spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all of those whose lives she touched. Marissa Jean “Max” Fernandez
Marissa Jean “Max” Fernandez passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at her home in Meraux, LA at the age of 16. She was born December 12, 2003 in New Orleans, LA to parents Julio Fernandez, IV and Rachel Hannan. She was known by her family and friends as being bright, talented, and eccentric. She enjoyed her time in the Chalmette High School Voices, where she was able to share the beautiful voice she had. She was overjoyed at her acceptance into the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts where she excelled far beyond any expectations. She pushed herself and was disciplined to say, “my school work must be completed before I do any fun stuff.” She aspired to one day become a Riverboat Pilot. She is survived by her parents Julio Fernandez, IV (Amanda) and Rachel Hannan; her sister Macie Elizabeth Fernandez; paternal great-grandparent Billie Smith, paternal grandparents Julio and Lisa Fernandez III, Robert and Virginia Finnegan; maternal great-grandparents Ernest Tircuit and Jake Jacob, maternal grandparents Frank and Rhonda Hannan; her aunts and uncles Amy and Ryan Walther, Alana and Frank Hannan, Nathan Fernandez and Nicholas Fernandez; cousins Drew Walther and Harper Hannan; many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
