Joan G. Gonzales passed away peacefully on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Ochsner Medical Center – Kenner at the age of 82. A native to Delacroix Island, she was born September 8, 1936 to the late Lana (Morales) & Johnny Gallardo. She married Casimire Gonzales who preceded her in death, and together had 4 children, Lana Alonzo (the late Carlos), Darrel Gonzales (Erica), Cisco Gonzales (Christie) and the late James Gonzales. She is survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany, Rena (Shaine), Wendy, Keisha (Chad), Darrel Jr. (Lauren), Justin, Tonia, Brandon, Derek (Ashlyn), Mindy, James, Michael (Brittany) Vivian (Frank), Corey, Cisco Jr. (Alayna), and Caitlyn and her 30 plus great-grandchildren. Joan truly lived a simple life. She enjoyed chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Family, friends, and others whose lives Joan touched are invited to attend her visitation at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Rd., St. Bernard, LA, 70085, on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1 p.m. She will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA.
