Michael Kevin McCarthy, a lifelong resident of Kenner, LA passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the age of 61. He retired from Industrial Instrument Works after 35 years of service. Michael dedicated his life to coaching youth sports for the City of Kenner and St. Bernard Recreation Departments. He officiated football, basketball and baseball for playgrounds, Junior High and High Schools for many years. Michael also had a passion for Golf, NASCAR, Notre Dame Football and The Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Denise Riviere McCarthy. Father of Patrick McCarthy and Melissa McCarthy Forvendel (Brandon). Grandfather of Anthony McCarthy, Jeremy and Jayden Forvendel. Son of Diane Guillot McCarthy and the late Cyril F. McCarthy, III. Brother of Colleen McCarthy, Brian McCarthy (Pam), Tim McCarthy (Lisa), Erin McCarthy and the late Shawn McCarthy, Sr. Also survived by special friends, Richard Rieser, Dennis Brisolara, Kernan (Skip) Hand, Carl Smith, Dave Fielding and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral. A visitation and funeral mass was held at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2402 33rd Street, Kenner, LA on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
