Edward “Eddie” Hazier Montz, III passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the age of 55. He is the lifelong partner of 23 years to Diane Gail Hoffman. Loving father of Sage Marguerite Montz and Samantha Ann Montz. Son of Grace Graffia Montz. Brother of Mary L. Bonck (Lawrence), Christine M. Alphonso, and Laurie M. Pappas. Best Friend of Joseph Goodwin. He is also survived and fondly remembered by a host nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hazier Montz, Jr. and his brother-in-law Michael Pappas. Eddie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 27, 1965, and was a lifetime resident of Chalmette, Louisiana where he worked 15 years for Associated Terminals. He truly enjoyed life through his simple pleasures of fishing, joking, and telling stories. He will always be remembered for his loyalty and dedication to his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady Of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA on Saturday, October 31st from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a service in Eddie’s memory beginning at 12 p.m. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are required.
