Rene Raymond Nunez, Sr. passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the age of 80. Rene was born to Mabel Acosta and Jules E. Nunez on April 25, 1940. He is survived by his wife, Lillian M. Nunez, of 59 years. He has three sons, Dwayne (Stephany), Rodney (Glenda), and Rene Jr. (Engdra); seven granddaughters, Lauren, Emily, Katie, Aimee, Rebecca, Kayla, and Alexis Nunez; one sister, Janet Kella (Ronnie) and a brother, Melvin Nunez (Joann) with whom he had a special bond. He also leaves behind a very special friend, Donald “Putt” Nunez, whom he loved like a brother. Rene was a parishioner of Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6872. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Road, in St. Bernard, on Friday, October 30, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held in his memory at 12 p.m. Noon.
