Susan Caron Salles

On Sunday, December 27, 2020, Heaven gained a special angel. Susan Caron Salles was born on April 28, 1957 to the late Beverly Worley Caron (d.2017) and late Rodney Joseph Caron (d. 1983). She attended Gayarre school in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Chalmette, LA in 1975. Although she made a career as a hairdresser, her true talent was turning any stranger lucky enough to sit in her chair into a lifelong friend. Susie was the free-spirited soul of her late mother. She was the one to say the blessing before a meal, and then the hand pulling you onto the dance floor after. She was spontaneous and warm, welcoming and hysterical. She had a laugh that demanded more laughter, gave hugs that felt like coming home, and listened without judgment. Her faith was endless, and she instilled it in anyone she would meet. She was a writer, a dancer, a true entertainer, a caretaker. The way she loved was infectious just like her brilliant personality. She never left a room of strangers without making a friend. Susie was the shining light in her family and friends lives, and we will miss her brightness every single day. Susie was the beloved wife of Stephen John Salles; loving mother of Mason Kenneth Salles (Kaylen) and Stephanie S. Boasso (Raymond); sister to Kathlyn C. Reichert (Allan), Kirk Joseph Caron, Cynthia C. Chong, and the late Rodney “Buddy/Chuckie” Caron. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life with us at Bagnell & Son Funeral Home in Covington, LA on Saturday, January 9, 2021, beginning at 10 a.m. Funeral services will continue at 12 p.m. at the same location.
