Barbara Jean Masson

Barbara Jean Masson passed away on Saturday January 2, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born on January 26, 1932, in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish where she owned A&A Machine Works in Arabi. After Hurricane Katrina she relocated to Gonzales, LA where she has lived for the past 15 years. She loved the New Orleans Saints and playing cards with her friends. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters and their children; Michele “Mickey” Dembrun, children, Debbie Richoux, Larry Dembrun, Jr., and Danny Dembrun; daughter, Sheri Masson Noto and children, Jeffrey Noto and Brad Noto; one son, E.J. Masson III and children, Cassie Masson and Jay Masson; a total of seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and George Barbookles; and her husband, the love of her life, Eugene Masson, Jr. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Hospice of Baton Rouge Butterfly Wing and the Ochsner Foundation. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 8, 2021 for 11 a.m. at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Gonzales. Officiant: Father Eric Gyan.
