Our precious mother, Marjorie Drake Gioia, was born October 8, 1928 in Arkansas City, AK, to Albert and Edna Drake. She went to be with Jesus November 15, 2021 in Katy, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Philip Joseph Gioia, son Ted "Theodore" Gioia and sister, Mary Alice Rolling. She is survived by three daughters, Margie Wallace (Jim), Minden, LA; Phyllis Timmons (Lynn) and Pam (Pamela) Maggiore (Mike), both of Katy, TX; and one son, Timmy (Timothy) Gioia of Chalmette, LA, grandchildren David Doll, James Wallace, Philip Wallace, Dana Bullock, Shana Bortka, Lainey Gioia, Miranda Menard, Taylor Gioia and Michael Maggiore, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Margie was a graduate of Charity Hospital School of Nursing and used her profession to serve others as a Registered Nurse. Margie and Philip raised their family and spent most of their lives in Chalmette, LA. Following Hurricane Katrina, they relocated to Katy, Texas where she became an avid Astros fan. She had a strong love for her family and always brought a smile to those she was around. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St Bernard Memorial Gardens, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA.
