Joan Rita Meyer passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the age of 89. She was the devoted mother of Donald Meyer (Donna), Patricia Meyer (Bruce), and the late David Meyer; loving companion of Al Jirovec, Jr.; doting grandmother of Donnie, Daniel, Samantha, Ethan, Mark, Sharel and 10 great-grandchildren; sister of Andrew V. Jackson (Carol) and the late Thelma Crespino (the late Chris); and “MawMaw” to Belinda Meyer and Samantha Meyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Isidore G. Meyer; her grandchild, the late Joshua; and by her parents, the late Andrew and Della Jackson. Joan also leaves behind many other relatives and dear friends who will greatly miss her. Relatives and friends of the family attended a visitation and funeral mass held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Rd., Chalmette, LA on Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
