Henry Joseph Dagro passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the age of 92. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley Luquet Dagro for over 48 years. Loving father of Carla Dagro Deckelmann (Joe) and Phyllis Dagro Trocquet (Miles). Proud grandfather of Phillip Miles Trocquet (Megan), Michael Henry Trocquet (Samantha) and Laura Deckelmann Burleigh (David). Proud great-grandfather of Julia Grace Deckelmann and Henry Louis Trocquet. Brother of Mary Dagro, brother-in-law of Johanna Albano Dagro, and uncle of many special nieces and nephews. He was born on July 17, 1929 and is preceded in death by his parents, Carlo Dagro and Philipa Lascaro Dagro; and his brother, Joseph Nick Dagro. He was born in Independence, LA; then resided in Chalmette for over 48 years, Mandeville for four years, and Newnan, GA, for the past eight years in the residence of Phyllis and Miles. He graduated from Independence High, Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University and served in the Army during the Korean War. He began his teaching career in Lafourche Parish and retired with 38 years of service in the St. Bernard Parish School System beginning as a business teacher at Chalmette High and then as personnel director for most of his tenure. He was a member of the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association and Serra Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Rosary will begin at 10:40 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11 a.m. with Fr.
