Karl E. “Big Man” Schmid passed away on Wednesday, June 21 2017 at the age of 62. He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife of 43 years Cathy Schmid; three beautiful daughters, Kristy Peterson (Daryl, Sr.), Kelli Dolese (Brad) and Kerrie Schmid (Jeremy) her fiancé; six beloved grandchildren, Kaylyn, Darryl, Jr., Brant and Bryson Peterson, Aubrey Toups and Tryston Leger; his two pups, Lacy May and Molly April, all of which he loved so very much. Karl had a great sense of humor. He was also a hard worker and was employed by Winn Dixie for over 20 years and Walmart for 2 years before his health began to fail. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. His memory will be cherished by his family and everyone who came to know and love him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at 1:30 p.m. and a Memorial at Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., Rev. Merlin Flores, Officiating. Interment will be private.
