Jackleen “Jackie” Tate Duckworth peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at the age of 79. Jackleen was a native of New Orleans, LA. She was the wife of the late Charles Duckworth, Sr. and daughter of the late Jerlean Pickens Tate and Anderson Tate, Sr. She is survived by five children: Charleen Duckworth-Jenkins (Robert Flemings) Charles Duckworth, Jr., Sheila Duckworth (Debra E. Mackey), Wanda Duckworth, Darleen Duckworth; three sisters: Shirley Merren (Roosevelt), Rosemary Jackson, Marylee Doyle (Edward), 1 brother Anderson Tate, Jr. (Mirida Hernandez),1 uncle Joseph Tate 11 grandchildren, Lawrence DeJean, Jr. (Tamika), Darlene Shaw (Ervin), Kimyader Duckworth, Akua Duckworth, Charles Duckworth, III., (Kimberly), Taquisha Lewis, Dr. Frank Harris, Kenya Duckworth, LaRissa Duckworth, Bianca Duckworth, Deandra Brown and the late Cordaro Robertson, 29 greatgrandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. She also leaves behind her longtime dear and devoted friends, Sadie Esco and Annie Mae Williams. Relatives and friends of the family, employees of Ochsner St. Bernard Hospital, East Jefferson General Hospital, University Medical Center, Curahealth Hospital, Costco, Nexant, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) and San Diego State University attended the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Lower Light Baptist Church, 4422 Ray Ave., New Orleans, LA. Pastor Kenneth Davis officiated. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the: Jackleen Duckworth Memorial Fund.
