Eliska Mary Moore Christian, the adored wife, amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-greatgrandmother; passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the age of 90. Eliska was born on October 26, 1927, and raised in New Orleans by her parents, the late Albert and Carmella Moore. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after 30 years. She loved to cook for her family, take family vacations and was proud of all her family. Eliska also known as Chris, was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, the love of her life, James M. Christian; and her sisters, Ruby Granier and Joyce Catanzaro. She was the most caring and dedicated mother of Carmella Christian, Albert Christian (Angela), Victor Christian Sr. (Cheryl) and Millicent Baudier (Michael Haase). Cherished grandmother of Richard Jr. and Christian Croop, Leslie Mattie (Brian), Bonnie Christian, Scott Daussin (Laurie), Victor Christian Jr. (Courtney) David and Robert Christian, Bradley Baudier (Erica) and Brandon Baudier (Jessica); Doting greatgrandmother of Caitlin Rose Croop-Lessard (Branden), Faith and Isabella Croop, Jullie and Samantha Christian, Andrew Duhe, Olivia, Reid, Madeline and Riley Baudier; Adoring greatgreat-grandmother of Kole James Lessard; Survived by her devoted sister Julie McCune and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Victor and Cheryl Christian for their dedication, care and selflessness over the past few years taking care of mom. Relatives and friends attended the funeral on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at St. Cletus Catholic Church, 3600 Claire Ave, Gretna, LA. Interment followed at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Eliska to the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, 4730 Table Mesa Dr., Suite J200 Boulder, CO 80305; to the Epilepsy Foundation of Northern California; or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
