Jura Pecot Dirmann passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the age of 84. She was the cherished wife of 51 years to Henry Isidore Dirmann Jr. Loving mother of Rachel Dirmann-Eden and Eric Henry Dirmann. Mother-in-law of Bill Eden and Carla Dirmann. Daughter of the late Roy Pecot Sr. and Islay McKendrick Pecot. Sister of Judy Pecot and Roy Pecot Jr. Sister-in-law of Clovena Dirmann and the late Anita Pecot. Proud grandmother of Evan Henry Dirmann and Lillian Grace Eden. She is also survived and fondly remembered by many cousins, relatives and dear friends. Jura was a longtime resident of New Orleans, currently residing in Luling, LA. She enjoyed a long and active life with many interests, including genealogy, archeology, the study of ancient history and often asked friends and relatives to bring her rock samples from their travels. She loved volunteering, most notably as a court watcher and for the Vatican exhibit at the World’s Fair in 1984. The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff at Ashton Manor in Luling and the compassionate caregivers at St. Catherine’s Hospice. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a visitation held at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, May 23, 2016, followed by a graveside service.
