Brenda Lee Chautin passed away suddenly at her home in Abita Springs on July 24, 2018, at the age of 60. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Ursula and Andrew Gilchrist. Brenda is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Ray Vachon; her children, Tammy McIntyre, Brandon Rimkus, and Danielle Vachon (Glenn); her granddaughter, Faith McIntyre; her siblings, Debra Bentley, Andrew Gilchrist Jr., Kerry Gilchrist (Mina), Kevin Gilchrist (Sylinda), Cynthia Gilchrist (Terry), Donna Voros (Janos), Dewayne Gilchrist (Stephanie), and Bryan Gilchrist (Nancy). Brenda was born on September 6, 1957, in Chalmette, LA. After high school she landed a position in an oil refinery, which she turned into a career. She spent the next 25 years working as a process operator. There is no one quite like Brenda. She was a strong, independent, and intelligent woman who also had a heart of gold. She wanted to help everyone, whether they were family or a complete stranger. The world will never be quite the same without her here.
